Elmo's Weekend with Bridie 5th - 6th April

On Saturday me and Elmo went to see some peonies. The peonies looked beautiful. Mum bought five
peonies. Two were for Brodie and Mum had three.  The woman said "don't put them in too deep in the ground".

After that we went home. Jayden and Dad were nearly asleep because we were going to see the stock cars. We wore earmuffs because "it was very loud" said Auntie Anna. When we got there the stock cars were warming up. But then they crashed.

Later on some of the dirt went in my eye. I put my sunglasses on, but they hurt my ears. My friend Olivia put my brothers sunglasses on. I fell over and my leg bled. It hurt.

Me and Jayden had McDonalds for tea. It was yum. We stayed up until 9:30.

The next day we went to the fun run. I was first in the 2km. Everyone got a prize at the end. It was a banger or some clappers. Elmo stayed in Dad's pocket during the run.

The End.

Show and Tell Wk 10

Wow. Here we are with just one week left in Term 1. This weeks show and tell was as interesting and varied as ever. We had some of our favourite soft cuddly toys which protect us and keep us safe, special gifts from Nan's and Aunties, and other gifts from family and friends.

Did you notice that we took the photo in front of the interactive whiteboard? The reason is that Sally sent us a photo of her new horse, Ella!! It didn't come through well on the i-pad camera though. Ella is a white horse that Sally just loves to bits!!

Awesome discussion again Room 3!!

The Homework Challenge Winner "F"

The Homework Challenge winner this week was Jai.

Jai did a great presentation on Fantails. It included some great images which he cut and glued himself, using the 'lift-up flap' technique we have been learning about in class. He also wrote a short summary of what he learnt about fantails.

Ka Pai Jai!!
(P.S. great pose for the photo Jai)

Show and Tell Wk 9

This week was our largest group for Show & Tell. We had a huge range of things such as books, dinosaurs, watches, toys, artwork and even Jah-Taea's new glasses. (They are so cool!!)

The discussion and questioning skills the tamariki are developing is great. We are learning to listen and then ask questions to get more information and to share our own understanding and connections with what others are sharing.

Ka Pai Room 3!!

We need help making our paper mache dinosaurs!! (Shannon)

We have found some problems so far. they are:

1) We need figuring out how to put the tail on - Le'Kaia
2) Stop the balloons from popping - Holly
3) Help putting the legs on - Holly
4) Can you show us how to make and put the spikes on? - Rico
5) What can we do for the head? - Jasmine
6) How can we make and put wings on? - Sally

Maybe, if you are an expert you could come into Room 3 in the afternoons to help us!! Mr Evans

The Homework Challenge 'E'

This week we were back to the usual Homework Challenge format. The letter was 'E' and we had lots of interesting presentations on Elephants, Eagles and Easter.

But the winner this week was Logan who did her challenge on Egyptian Pharaohs (Kings). Wow, what a cool topic and great information on Egyptian culture.
